Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How is technical debt cost calculated?
Monthly debt cost = Wasted Hours × Hourly Rate × Team Size. Bug cost = Bug Frequency × (Rate × 0.5), assuming each bug takes ~30 minutes to diagnose and fix. Total annual cost is simply the monthly total multiplied by 12.
How is the refactoring ROI determined?
We estimate refactoring costs at 3× your monthly debt cost, and assume it eliminates 80% of ongoing debt cost. The payback period shows how many months until the savings from refactoring exceed the upfront investment.
Is my data stored or sent anywhere?
No. All calculations happen entirely in your browser. No team, salary, or project data is transmitted or stored.
